Corfu island is very small and distances are not that big. But if you are not in the travelling mood (because to reach the majority of beaches you need to catch a bus) here is the list of places where you can swim in Corfu Town.

  • Place near Corfu Town yacht harbour

To get there enter in navigation the NAOK Azur and head towards this restaurant. When you will be on the sidewalk you will see sunbeds and people basking in a creek or by the rocks. Where you set out depends on you but remember that the waves from passing ships can take your stuff, so put them in a safe place!

  • A jetty by the Nautilus Restaurant

Considered by local people as one of the most beautiful and less touristy places to relax. A jetty by the Nautilus Restaurant where yet so few visitors ever get there.

If you walk on just a little further from the Nautilus Restaurant area, you will come to the Mon Repos park from where you can get to the beach, or more a platform. It’s really complicated to get there, especially if you are going there for the first time. The best way is to ask people about the road and tips. However, here are a few hints. Firstly, when you pass off the main entrance go straight ahead to the moment when you will drift to the Mon Reps Palace. Then follow the path alongshore.

Mon Repos

Mon Repos

These are the places where you can refresh yourself and swim in Corfu Town, but they are not as nice or beautiful (except Mon Repos, where you look at a lush and beautiful forest) as beaches in for example Paleokastritsa. Just rocks or concrete covered porch. Also, you need to take into account that water is not that clean due to the port closeness.

The nearest “real” beach is in Dassia about which you can read here.
